Faculty, staff and students at Mount Vernon Nazarene University now have convenient on-campus access to medical care thanks to a partnership between the university and Knox County Community Health Center, a local Federally Qualified Health Center which is a clinical branch of Knox Public Health.

The honorees John Mohnasky and Charlotte Skeese. They were nominated by peers and selected by the award committee through a review process.

Coe reaches 1000 points for her career, leads Lady Cougars over Spring Arbor

For the second time in a week, the Mount Vernon Nazarene Lady Cougars had a junior basketball star reach the 1000-point career milestone, and this time, it occurred on senior day. During the third quarter, junior Maggie Coe reached a basketball milestone, by surpassing 1,000 career points in an MVNU uniform. She joined junior teammate Rylee Pireu who reached the 1000-point plateau earlier in the week, Feb .1 against Taylor.
Cougars Cheerleaders place first in competition

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University cheerleading team competed in the MVNU Invite inside Ariel Arena on Saturday, February 5. Along with MVNU, Bethel University and Point Park University competed iin the inviational event. MVNU put forth a huge effort in the second competition of the night. MVNU made the most of the moment, placing first in a cheer competition for the first time in program history.
Pireu surpasses 1,000 career points, but Lady Cougars lose at Taylor, 97-85

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s basketball team (13-11, 7-5) traveled to Upland, Indiana to face Taylor University (11-10, 5-4) on Tuesday, February 1. Despite the 97-85 loss at the hands of the Trojans, the Lady Cougars were able to see one of their own achieve a career milestone. Entering Tuesday’s game, junior Rylee Pireu needed just 13 points to reach 1,000 for her MVNU women’s basketball career. Pireu came out strong, reaching the milestone with a layup almost six minutes into the first quarter. Along with the new milestone, Pireu had one of the best games of her MVNU career as she finished with 29 points on 9-12 shooting from the floor.

A gallery talk will be given at the Schnormeier Gallery on Friday Jan. 21, at 5 p.m., with a reception to follow from 6-8 p.m.
