The Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) men's and women's bowling teams participated in the Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No. 1 on October 18 at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace. The women's team finished 11th out of 14 teams with a total score of 2128, while the men's team placed 16th among 20 teams, scoring 4634.
The women's junior varsity team performed notably well, securing second place with a score of 2134. Riley Rine led the women's team by medaling and finishing 26th overall with a total of 492 and an average score of 164. Olivia Strait followed in 41st place with a total of 471, averaging 157, and Brenna McTighe completed the top three for MVNU women with a score of 467, averaging 155.7.
On the men's side, Christian Phillips achieved a placement of 25th overall with a total score of 599 and an average of 199.7. Benjamin Brubaker was ranked at position number 71 with a score of 538, averaging 179.3, while Josiah Casler rounded out the top three for MVNU men with a total score of 534 and an average of 178.
Looking ahead, MVNU is set to compete in the OBC No.2 on November 15 in Columbus, Ohio.
