MVNU women's cross country team competes in Great Lakes Challenge

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's cross country team participated in the Great Lakes Challenge Maroon 5K held at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event took place on Saturday morning, October 25, and featured 22 NAIA teams.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) secured the 15th position with a score of 380. Taylor University emerged as the winner of the meet. Tammy Liplin led MVNU by finishing in 29th place with a time of 18:36.20, marking a new personal best for her. Freshman Ella Wigal also achieved a personal best with her time of 19:29.30.

The team's overall time was recorded at 1:36:07.30, which stands as the third fastest in the program's history.

For individual performances, Liplin finished in 29th place with a time of 18:36.20, Ashley Yoder came in at 78th with a time of 19:11.30, Loey Hallabrin was placed at 82nd with a time of 19:14.40, Wigal finished at 107th with her personal best of 19:29.30, and Lauren Warder secured the 114th spot with a time of 19:36.10.

Looking ahead, MVNU will compete next in the Crossroads League Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan on Friday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m.
