Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's volleyball team achieved a significant victory against Indiana Wesleyan University on October 22. The match, held at Ariel Arena in Mount Vernon, Ohio, saw the No. 12 ranked MVNU team defeat the No. 5 ranked IWU team in straight sets.

The Lady Cougars took control early, winning the first set 25-21 and maintaining their momentum throughout the match. In the second set, MVNU faced a challenge as IWU took a late lead at 23-22. However, MVNU responded with a decisive 3-0 run to win the set 25-23. The third set was dominated by MVNU, resulting in a 25-18 victory and securing a sweep over IWU.

This victory was notable as it marked MVNU's first win against IWU since October 1, 2022, and ended IWU's streak of not being swept since that year. Additionally, it was IWU's first regular-season loss to a conference opponent in 52 matches.

Key players for MVNU included Morgan Schlabach with 16 kills and Faith Maloney with 12 kills. Reagan Nuss contributed significantly with 32 assists, while Jaelyn Tang added defensive strength with 14 digs.

Looking ahead, MVNU will host Goshen College on Senior Day at Ariel Arena on October 25. The university offers education to nearly 2,200 students from various states and countries and emphasizes academic excellence alongside spiritual growth.
