Charles “Gov” Thomas Zeune, 79, of Johnstown, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born Oct. 29, 1942 to the late Howard and Beulah Zeune.
Knox County Historical Society Museum to reopen April 6

After two years of being open by appointment only, the Knox County Historical Society Museum will be reopening on Wednesday evening, April 6, with a very special program, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Museum is located at 875 Harcourt Road (Routes 3 and 36).

This is a great time of the year for sports. Major League baseball is just about to start; March Madness (NCAA basketball) is in its final weekend; NFL trades and signings are in full swing; the NBA and NHL are winding down to play-off time and the NBA championships and the Stanley Cup; and “sports spectacular” season is upon us. Some sporting events even the casual fan or non-fan takes interest in. They include arguably the premier professional golf event of the year, The Masters, April 7-10.

The four local student-athletes honored included three frequent mentions and Athlete of the Week winners in the Mount Vernon News and were recognized for their outstanding performances. The four student-athletes representing four area schools were among the division III and IV honorees. Division I and II honorees will be announced later this week.
