Six local athletes earn All-Ohio girls basketball honors

The Division I, II, III and IV girls basketball All-Ohio teams were announced this week by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, and seven student-athletes representing six Knox County area schools were among the honorees. 

The OPSWA was created in 1972 to support, promote and recognize coverage of high school sports across Ohio and is endorsed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

In the 2022 Division II All-Ohio category, honorable mention went to Emma West of Highland. The 5’10” senior averaged 13.3 points per game.

In Division III, Beth Hardwick of Cardington-Lincoln was selected to the second team.The 5’10” senior averaged 15.0 points per game. Honorable mention went to Gabby Daniels, Fredericktown, a 5’8” senior who averaged 13.4 points per game, and Kambry Edwards, a 5’4” senior from Cardington-Lincoln who averaged 10.0 points per game. 

In Division IV, special mention was awarded to Danville senior Brooklyn Hess, who stands 5’11” and averaged 12.9 points, and Northmor’s 5‘8” senior Lexi Wenger, who averaged 15.7 points. Honorable mention recognition went to Laura Keith of East Knox, a 5’9” senior who averaged 15.2 points.
