Mount Vernon 6, West Holmes 3 Caden Rowland was a standout at the plate and also on the hill for Mount Vernon (12-4, 7-3), putting together a solid day on the mound while pitching a complete game to get the win in a 6-3 victory for the Yellow Jackets over West Holmes (5-7, 2-3) on April 25.

Mount Vernon 13, Marysville 6 The Mount Vernon Lady Jackets (10- 5, 5-1 in OCC play) used a five-run second inning to distance themselves from the Marysville Monarchs (13-3) en route to a a 13-6 win April 22. Ahead 9-6 after five, MV tacked on four more in the sixth to make it a runaway.

Just one start after throwing a perfect game, East Knox’s Bryar Householder continued his mastery on the pitcher’s mound with a three-hit shutout over Cardington-Lincoln (3-5, 2-3), with the Bulldogs (6-3, 3-2) taking a 5-0 win on April 19.

A red hot player, and a return honor earned by a perfect diamond performance. Our Athletes of the Week are Chesnee Fairall (Centerburg softball) and Bryar Householder (East Knox baseball).

National Federation of State High School Associations and local high school athletic directors seek to bench bad behavior.

Northmor 6, Cardington-Lincoln 4. Northmor (6-4, 4-3) got a big day at the plate from Taylor Cantrell to secure a comeback win over Cardington-Lincoln (5-5, 4-1) by a score of 6-4 on April 17.

Shelby Morris spun a gem for Centerburg (12-2, 6-0) over East Knox (9-2, 2-2), in which she pitched a complete game one-hit shutout to take a 6-0 win on April 14.

East Knox 10, Centerburg 0. Bryar Householder had pinpoint control and movement on all of his pitches in throwing a gem. Householder completed a perfect game as East Knox bulldogged the Trojans, 10-0, April 14.

Fredericktown girls won nine gold medals at the Dave Schorr Invitational at Ridgedale High School, April 8.

In the opening game of a double-header, Northmor's Kate Kissling was on point, throwing nine strikeouts and taking the win in 6-2 victory over Ridgedale. In game two, Northmor’s Shelby Cooper spun a gem, throwing a no-hitter for the Lady Knights in an 11-0 win
