Fredericktown’s Hoam, Cockrell and Bouton each win two golds at Dave Schorr Invitational
Fredericktown girls won nine gold medals at the Dave Schorr Invitational at Ridgedale High School, April 8. Cardington-Lincoln won three events and Northmor one. Leading the way for the Lady Freddies were Elsa Hoam and Ashley Cockrell, who each won two running events, and Ella Bouton, who took home gold in two field events.
Hoam won the 1600M run and the 3200M, taking the 1600M by 8.43 seconds over second-place Loey Hallabrin of C-L. Northmor’s Kathy Lehman and Natalie Hunter finished third and fourth. Hoam romped home first in the 3200M by 21.51 seconds over Northmor’s Kate Lehman, C-L’s Morgan White was third and Fredericktown’s Elli Rashley was fourth.
Cockrell’s two wins were in the 100M hurdles and the 300M hurdles. Cockrell won the 100M hurdles by 2.56 seconds over Danville’s Heloisa Vasquez (second) and Fredericktown’s Hailey Cockrell (third). Ashley Cockrell took the 300M hurdles by 5.66 seconds. Danville’s Vasquez was third and Northmor’s Ryann Brinkmann was fourth.
Cardington-Lincoln’s Loey Hallabrin won the 800M race, with Northmor’s Hunter second and C-L’s Magi Hallabrin third, just ahead of Fredericktown’s Caitlin Roddy in fourth.
Fredericktown won the 4x200M relay with a team of Emma Scott, Trinity Enzor, Aspen Maggard and Emily Feeney. The Lady Freddies also cruised by nearly nine seconds in the 4x400M relay, with Kit Bellman, Sydney Wilson, Cally Carpenter and Hoam.
Cardington-Lincoln nailed down the 4x800M relay with Loey Hallabrin, Gracie Meade, Morgan White and Magi Hallabrin.
In other events on the track, Fredericktown’s Feeney finished fourth in the 200M finals and Bellman brought home the bonze, finishing third in the 400M finals.
Field event winners were Fredericktown’s Bouton in both the shot put and the discus, Northmor’s Bre York in the high jump and Fredericktown’s Emma Fowler in the pole vault.
Freddies boys win two; Knights, Pirates and Blue Devils one each at Schorr Invite
In boys track competition at the Dave Schorr Invitational, Cardington-Lincoln’s Aidan Reitmire and the Northmor relay team won gold in track events and Fredericktown’s Brandon Hogg, Northmor’s Cowin Becker and Danville’s Byer Boeshart finished in first place in field competition.
C-L’s Reitmire won the 800M ahead of second-place Lucas Weaver of Northmor. Fredericktown won the 4x200M relay with Caedmon Platt, Grant Hartley, Trevor Bellman and Teegan Ruhl. The Freddies also took the 4x400M relay with Hartley, Owen Krabill, Antonio Rojas and Platt.
In other track events, Bo Landin was third in the 100M for Northmor. Golden Knights' David Blunk and Ryan Lehman finished second and third in the 1600M, and Freddies runner Krabill was second at 3200M, ahead of third-place finisher Lehman of Northmor. Danville’s Jacob Hackman was second in the 110M hurdles and Northmor’s Levi Hunter was second in the 300M hurdles.
In field events, Fredericktown’s Hogg won the pole vault over second-place finisher Cade Miracle of Northmor and Fredericktown’s Jack Fowler. Becker of Northmor won the long jump. Danville’s Boeshart won the shot put, ahead of Fredericktown’s Lucas Herbst (second) and Danville’s Cody Ricketts (third). Boeshart was second in the discus.
