In the opening game of a double-header, Northmor's Kate Kissling was on point, throwing nine strikeouts and taking the win in 6-2 victory over Ridgedale. The Golden Knights had a 4-1 lead after one inning but then Ridgedale added a run to make it a 4-2 game. Northmort then added a run in the third and the sixth to secure the win. Maddie Simpson led the offense going 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored. McKenna Vandyke also had a 2-for-3 day with a double, with an RBI and two runs. Kissling went seven innings allowing one earned run, whiffing nine without allowing a walk.
In game two, Northmor’s Shelby Cooper spun a gem, throwing a no-hitter for the Lady Knights in an 11-0 win. Northmor went ip 6-0 on a five-run third and kept adding runs. Cooper had seven strikeouts in the no-hitter and just missed a perfect game as she recorded only one walk.
Danville 10, Ridgewood 0
Danville 12, Ridgewood 7
Danville swept a twinbill vs, Ridgewood. In the first game Grace Gronberg was lights out throwing a complete game, nine strikeouts, one-hit shoutout to take down Ridgewood 10-0. Danville got on the board with three runs in the third, followed by a four-run fourth and three-run fifth inning.
Cordi Richert led the offense going 2-for-3 day including a double, a run scored and an RBI. Addy Bocock also went 2-for-3 with a double, while scoring twice and knocking in a run. Taryn Mickley had a pair of RBIs, a walk, and a run scored in the win.
Danville took the second game of the doubleheader in blowout fashion, 12-7, with a 16-hit barrage led by Addison Mickley four-RBI day.
Danville ld from start to finish. Addison Mickley homered and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs. Cordi Richert added a three-run homer in a 1-for-3 day. Taryn Mickley went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Grace Gronberg had a triple with a 2-for-4 day with one RBI and three runs.
Bobock went for five innings allowing one earned run and four hits, striking out seven while walking just one to take the win.
Centerburg 18, Mount Gilead 3
Centerburg had the bats going against Mount Gilead thanks to a powerful display by Chesnee Fairall who homered twice in an 18-3 win for the Trojans.
Centerburg started things off with an 11-run first inning and never looked back. They went on to tack on a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings, and then three runs in the fifth inning.
The Trojans had 21 hits in the game and were led by Fairall who went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two home runs. Harley Webb also had a big day with a 4-for-5 showing including a homer. Abby Herren also had four hits on the day.
For the Indians, Greer Simpson drove in all the team’s runs with a three-run bomb in the fifth inning. The only other hit was by Emily Mattix, who went 1-for-2.
