Mount Vernon boys, girls defeat Mansfield Comprehensive

In a dual meet, April 4, Mount Vernon’s girls and boys track teams both defeated Mansfield Comprehensive. Mount Vernon’s girls track team won 71-52. Alex Couch won gold in the 800, 1600 and 3200 runs, Emma Phillips won the 100M and 200M dashes, the MV 4x100 relay team won, Zoey Morrison won the 300M hurdles, Ashlynn Scott won the high jump and Nevaeh Williams won the shot put.

The MV boys took a 106-23 win. Yellow Jackets’ first place finishes were earned by the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams, Mason Richards won the 100M, Ethan Young won the 200M, Jack Craigo won the 100M hurdles and the high jump, Devlin Hager won the shot put, Hunter Looney won the 300M hurdles, Jojo Ernst won the 800M and Luke Mullins won the discus.

 

Mount Gilead girls take quad-meet

Northmor met Centerburg, Mount Gilead and Gilead Christian, April 4. The boys’ team scores were unavailable at press time, but Mount Gilead and Northmor each won six events, Centerburg won four and Gilead Christian took home one.

In the girls events, Mount Gilead scored 99 points, Northmor had 90, Centerburg had 58 and Gilead Christian had 25. Mount Gilead took seven golds, Northmor won four, Centerburg earned three and Gilead Christian one. 

 

Boys meet gold medalists were: Mason Turske (Centerburg) in the 100M, Quade Harris (Mount Gilead) in the 200M, Greg Beard (Centerburg) in the 400M, Lucas Weaver (Northmor) in the 800M, Will Baker (Mount Gilead) in the 1600M and 3200M, Levi Hunter (Northmor) in the 300M hurdles – 36 inches, Northmor won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays, Mount Gilead won the 4x400 co-ed relay and Centerburg won the 4x800 relay. In field events, Joey Baldwin (Mount Gilead) won the shot put, Mason Lanthorn (Centerburg) won the discus, Conner Stockdale (Northmor) won the high jump, Connor Radojcsics (Northmor) won the pole vault and Ben Whitt (Mount Gilead) won the long jump. 

 

Girls meet gold medalists were: Madilyn Elson (Mount Gilead) in the 100M, Evie Stowe (Centerburg) won the 200M and 400M, Natalie Hunter (Northmor) in the 800M, Kimberly Staley (Mount Gilead) in the 1600M and 3200M, Rebeka Clark (Mount Gilead) in the 100M hurdles, Darbie Dillon (Mount Gilead) in the 300M hurdles – 30 inches, Mount Gilead won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays and Northmor won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. In field events, Allison Crouse (Centerburg) won the shot put and discus, Danielle Pohlkotte (Mount Gilead) won the high jump and Natalie Hunter (Northmor) won the pole vault. 

 

Freddies take first in tri-meet

At the Fredericktown-Highland-Clear Fork tri-meet April 4, the Freddies took the event with 68 points, Highland scored 60 and Clear Fork had 47.

For Fredericktown, event winners were Alden McManis in the 800M and 1600M, Owen Kravill in the 3200M, Lucas Herbst in the shot put and Brandon Hogg in the pole vault.
