Freddies rally in second half to down Bulldogs 57- 42. Trailing at half-time, Fredericktown (6-2, 3-1 KMAC) took command in the second half, and defeated East Knox (3-4, 2-3 KMAC) in a girls basketball game, 57-42, Wednesday night at East Knox.

Mount Gilead rebounds from scoreless first to down Centerburg, 35- 21. Mount Gilead (3-2, 1-2 KMAC) was held scoreless in the first quarter but won their first KMAC game of the season, beating Centerburg (1-5, 0-3 KMAC), 35-21. It was as much as scoring hardship as it may have appeared, as Centerburg only put up two points on two free throws by Chloe Goulter, to lead 2-0 after the first.

Lady Pirates remain undefeated by routing Lady Trojans 61-34. Scoring early and often and playing a suffocating defense, the Cardington-Lincoln Lady Pirates (6-0, 3-0 KMAC) kept their unbeaten season on course, and dominated the Centerburg Lady Trojans (1-4, 0-2 KMAC) 61-34, Wednesday evening.

Weckesser’s 26 outdone by Bentley’s 29 in Northmor’s comeback win over Danville. Danville’s Walker Weckesser scored 26 points, and the Blue Devils took a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter, but a 29-point night by Grant Bentley and a 22-point fourth-quarter onslaught by The Golden Nights took home a come-from-behind one-point victory December 3.

In a girls high school basketball game, Nov. 29, that saw Fredericktown slowly and methodically edge away, the Freddies (2-1) defeated Utica (0-1) in their home opener, 53-34. The Freddies led 10-8 after one and 21-14 at the half.

Lady Pirates sink Vikings 66-35, tame Tigers 56-51The Cardington-Lincoln Lady Pirates upped their early-season record to 2-0, with a 66-35 drubbing of the Columbus Academy Vikings (0-1), last Tuesday.The Pirates jumped out to a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and increased the advantage to 39-18 at halftime.

The Cardington-Lincoln Pirates and Ridgedale Rockets girls basketball squads were tied 10-10 at the quarter, but C-L dominated the rest of the way, leading 27-17 at the half and allowed only 3 points in the third quarter to take a 37-20 lead, then romped to a 21-6 fourth quarter to win it 58-26.

FREDERICKTOWN – Will Hartley admitted this was his hardest week in his career as Fredericktown coach. His Freddies went into Friday’s Homecoming game shorthanded, and it showed. Hartley could only watch as Dane Nauman led Highland with 289 rushing yards and four touchdowns – all in the first half – as the Scots defeated the Freddies, 41-20, in Friday’s Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference game.Fredericktown began the season with 41 players on their roster.
