Mount Vernon High School senior Caleb Rickett has committed to Otterbein University, where he will continue his academic and athletic pursuits by joining the Cardinals football program.

Rickett, a significant contributor for the Yellow Jackets during his high school career, made the announcement after what he described as a period of patience and determination. "Some things are best waiting for," he said, reflecting on the recruiting process that ultimately led him to Otterbein.

According to Rickett, this decision marks a milestone in his life. He built a reputation as a dedicated and disciplined player known for his leadership and competitive edge. He said his journey was a reminder that "when one door closes, another one opens."

Otterbein University, located in Westerville, Ohio, competes in NCAA Division III as part of the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Cardinals will be adding a player who brings not only talent but also a deep love for the game and a commitment to team success.
