While many stars from last year have graduated, the talent well is not dry for EK Bowling | EKSCHOOLS

Football season is over for most schools, and winter sports are now coming into full swing, with tryouts and practices taking over. For East Knox City Schools, the sport of bowling is one of those sports.

Last year, the EK Boys Bowling Team, led by Coach Chip Pozderac, had an amazing season, going undefeated with a record of 19-0. They finished their season with the accomplishments of KMAC Champions, District Runner Ups, and State Qualifiers.

This year might prove to be a bit more of a challenge though, after doing so well last season, but Pozderac is optimistic.

“We had an amazing year last year, and graduated 13 seniors, but the well isn't completely dry and we are rebuilding.”

Thirteen seniors is a lot to replace, but with the likes of the players that have made the team this year, it shouldn't be an issue to compete highly again for EK. The following students have made the East Knox 2024-2025 roster this year:

Letter winners returning (including grade) — Sophomores Blake Calhoon (1st Team KMAC), Shaymus Lashley, Aiden Stapleton, Ryan Peck and Brody Karosec.

Promising newcomers (including grade) — Juniors Noah Nelson (transferred from Mount Vernon) and Blake Stiner. Sophomores - Haiden Priest, Braxton Lahmon and Freshmen Issac Vineyard.

East Knox will have its first match on November 19th at 4:00 p.m. when they take on Heath at Park Lanes.
