The Mount Vernon track and field teams competed at the Berlin Invitational on April 5, with the girls’ team placing third and the boys’ team in fifth out of eight teams.

Girls Results

The girls’ track and field team was third with 104 points, trailing first place Olentangy Berlin (115) and Olentangy (110) in the meet.

The team’s top performer was Marissa Rutter, who won the gold in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdle races. Lucy Rush had a big day, as well, winning the silver medal in the 3,200 meters.

The relay teams also did well with a pair of bronze medals. The 4x200 meter relay team picked up a bronze with a time of 1:54.94. The team consisted of Sydney Statler, Nadia Nougi, Savannah Rose and Amaris Middleton. Mount Vernon’s 4x400 meter team had a time of 4:29.81. The team included Rose, Addison Barber, Nougi and Rutter. 

Bailey Thayer also won a bronze in the pole vault with a height of seven feet, six inches.

100 meters: Amaris Middleton and Nadia Nougi were fourth and fifth place, with respective times of 13.26 and 13.27.

800 meters: Ainsley Bonaudi had a time of 2:43.35, good for fifth place. Ava Burson placed eight with a time of 2:44.64.

1600 meters: Elli Salvucci was fourth with a time of 5:45.72 and Megan Packard took fifth with a time of 5:46.07.

3200 meters: Lucy Rush was second with a time of 11:59.83. Hannah Hofferberth was fourth with a time of 12:44.49.

100 meter hurdles: Rutter took the gold with a time of 15.20. Cora Rickett was seventh with a time of 19.02.

300 meter hurdles: Marissa Rutter was first with a time of 48.21 and Zoey Morrison was sixth with a time of 55.07.

4x200 meter relay: Mount Vernon was third with a time of 1:54.94.

4x400 meter relay: The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets had a bronze in the event with a time of 4:29.81.

Shot put: Grace Hauke was ninth with a toss of 25 feet, 11.5 inches. Madeline Springer was 10th with a distance of 25 feet, 10 inches.

Discus: Springer took fifth place with a toss of 83 feet, one inch. Hauke was right behind her in sixth with a toss of 82 feet, one inch.

Long jump: Taylor Couch just missed the podium, placing fourth with a distance of 14 feet. Elizabeth Lebold was sixth with a leap of 13 feet, 11.75 inches.

Boys Results

Logan Eggert (800 meters) won a silver medal for the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fifth place finish with 82 points. Olentangy won the event with 137 points, followed by Westerville Central (126), Olentangy Berlin (99.5) and Westerville South (87.5).

Luke Mullins (discus) and the 4x200 meter relay team also got to the podium with bronze medals.

100 meters: Mason Richards was fourth with a time of 11.34. Sami Lacksonen placed 13th with a time of 12.09.

200 meters: Richards was fifth with a time of 23.53 and Ethan Young was sixth with a time of 23.72.

800 meters: Logan Eggert placed second with a time of 2:00.10. Owen Petrie was 14th with a time of 2:29.49.

1600 meters: Zane Barber was seventh with a time of 4:52.38. Joey Butts was 11th with a time of 5:33.32.

3200 meters: Landon Rush was eighth with a time of 10:38.14 and Gavin Andrews was 11th with a time of 11:47.26.

110 meter hurdles: Kalman Kanuckel was 10th with a time of 17.85. Ethan Conant was 12th with a time of 18.54.

300 meter hurdles: Hunter Looney was fifth with a time of 43.86 and Brady Wiles was seventh with a time of 44.10.

4x200 meter relay: Mount Vernon was third with a time of 1:37.01. The bronze medal winning team included Looney, Cole Wilson, Ayden Kennedy and Richards.

4x800 meter relay: Mount Vernon placed sixth with a time of 9:35.24. The team included Rush, Luke Hubbard, Petrie and Gavin Andrews.

Shot put: Dakota Wagoner was seventh with a time of 39 feet, 8.5 inches. Colin Hoffman was 15th with a time of 32 feet, 7.75 inches.

Discus: Luke Mullins won the bronze with a time of 125 feet, six inches. Wagoner was 11th with a 110 feet, two inches.

Pole vault: Ethan Conant was eighth with a time of seven feet.

Long jump: Sami Lacksonen was sixth with a time of 17 feet, three inches. Ben Fitzpatrick was seventh with a time of 17 feet, .25 inches.
