The Canal Market District announced that the A Touch of Glass show and sale will take place from Thursday, June 18, through Saturday, June 20, at The Skylight event center, 85 East Main St., Newark. The event will feature 70 tables filled with vintage Ohio-made glassware including stemware, vases, candlesticks, and more.

The show opens Thursday with a gala celebration from 4 to 7 p.m., offering complimentary hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets for the opening are $10 and available at the door. HCA members will present free seminars on Heisey glass during the show on Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; admission is free for these sessions.

The Annual Glass Show and Sale features national dealers selling fine American-made vintage glassware. While there is an emphasis on pieces made in Newark by A.H. Heisey & Company between 1896 and 1957, glassware from other manufacturers such as Cambridge, Fostoria, Fenton, and others will also be available.

On Saturday morning, June 20, the Glass Flea Market will be held at the Canal Market District at 36 East Canal St., Newark. This portion of the event is free to all attendees from 8 a.m. to noon. Community members who wish to sell their own glassware are invited to bring a table and set up shop without any participation fee.
