Mount Vernon’s Summer Front Porch Concert Series will bring music, food, and community together along East High Street this July.
The annual event unfolds in Mount Vernon with concerts staged on the front porches of historic homes. Performances begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue into the evening, with porches at 503, 601, 611, 700, 710, and 718 East High Street hosting a rotating lineup of local and regional acts.
The porch format is meant to bring art directly into the neighborhood, creating a walkable, family‑friendly festival where residents and visitors can enjoy diverse genres in an intimate setting. By transforming porches into stages, the series fosters connection, accessibility, and cultural engagement, turning summer evenings into shared experiences.

The series, which runs until August, highlights Mount Vernon’s musical diversity, spanning jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and rock. Attendees can stroll from porch to porch, discovering new sounds while enjoying food trucks, family activities, artists, and vendors. Maps guide visitors through the venues, encouraging exploration of each stage.
As the sun sets, the music carries through the streets, blending with laughter, conversation, and the aroma of local food. Organizers emphasize that the program is not just about performances but about celebrating place, people, and creativity together.
"Expect a packed schedule of local musicians covering jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and rock," the City stated. "The streets will be lined with food trucks, artists, vendors, and activities alongside the porch stages. Grab your lawn chair, find a spot in the yard, and catch the performances all summer long."
