H.S. Girls' Volleyball: Mount Vernon sweeps Ashland, improves to 12-3

Junior Kaitlyn Thompson had ten kills and senior Emma Dean had seven kills, six aces and two blocks to lead the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets over the Ashland Arrows, three sets to zero, on Tues. Sept. 19.

Mount Vernon won the first set, 25-21, the second 25-15 and the third 25-13.

For the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Audrey Stuller had 15 digs, senior Jurnie Gleason had seven kills, three aces and 14 digs, senior Ady Beaver had three aces, senior Avery Lasater had three aces and senior Tori Burdette had 20 assists.

Head Lauren Townley has guided the Yellow Jackets to a 12-3 overall record, and 7-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.

The Arrows fell to 4-5 overall.

Mount Vernon has seven remaining regular season games before the state tournament.
