Highland dominates Crestview 50-26 with Dane Nauman’s four touchdowns

Dane Nauman of Highland (3-0, 0-0) scored four touchdowns to help the Fighting Scots remain perfect to start the season in a 50-26 blowout win over the Crestview Cougars (1-2, 0-0).

The Fighting Scots scored 24 unanswered points to start the game, with seven in the first quarter and 17 points in the second quarter. In the first quarter, Dane Nauman scored on a 27-yard rushing touchdown and a Malin Fichtner kick made it 7-0. Fichtner kicked a field goal in the second quarter with eight minutes to go to make it a 10-0 game. The Fighting Scots extended the lead to 17-0 on a 65-yard punt return. They extended the lead to 24-0 on a 49-yard pass play.

In the third quarter with seven minutes on the clock, Liam Kuhn put the Cougars on the board with a three-yard touchdown pass to Karter Goon. Highland responded with a 70-yard kick return for a score by Kort Sears to go up 30-6. With less than a minute left in the third quarter, Brice Perkins picked off a pass and returned it for 40 yards and a score.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Nauman struck again to make it 36-14 on a 22-yard rushing touchdown. The Cougars scored with eight minutes to go on a 42-yard touchdown pass by Kohn to make it 36-20. However, Nauman responded with another score, this time on a 42-yard run to go up 43-20 after Fichtner nailed the extra point. With five minutes left in the fourth, Kuhn scored for the Cougars on a 10-yard run, but Nauman continued his dominance with a 79-yard rushing touchdown to go up 50-26 after a made extra point.
