Logan Meyer, a 2018 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, was a four-year letter-winner in both track and cross country and a three-year team MVP in both sports. Moving on to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where he ran both track and cross country, he finished his collegiate cross country career being named team MVP.
Meyer finished seventh in the North Atlantic Coast Conference, qualifying him with First Team honors and a Regional meet birth. He finished 29th in the 8K race (5 miles), timed int 25:37 in the Great Lakes Division 3 championship race in Indiana, with more than 40 teams competing, providing 280 runners. This qualified him for top honors in the Region.
Meyer started the season with a win. Allegheny’s Indoor track season began Jan. 22, at the Wooster College Invitational, and Meyer won the 3000M (1.86 miles) in a time of 8:57.38, finishing 7 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Meyer will be running at Oberlin College on Feb. 12 and in the NACC Championships in March at Dennison University. Meyer will end his collegiate career running in the outdoor track season and will graduate with a degree in Environmental Science.
While running for Mount Vernon’s cross country team, Meyer was a three-time All-OCC honoree, two-time regional qualifier, and 2016 OCC Gold Medalist for the Jackets. He was also a two-time All-OCC track and field honoree.
