The Mount Vernon Yellowjackets football team is set to renew its rivalry against Marion Harding this season, hosting the rivals in the Aug. 20 season opener.
Mount Vernon players will have revenge on their minds after last season’s 21-12 loss. After Harding, the Yellowjackets hit the road for back-to-back, nonconference road games against Newark and Buckeye Valley before returning home to host conference rivals Lexington and Ashland.
Marion Harding recently welcomed backed alumnus Demetrius Ross as head coach.
"It was just a matter of time,” said Ross, whose resume includes a decade plus of arena football head coaching experience and a stint as a general manager.
“I am where I am supposed to be and doing what I was called to do,” he said of being back at Marion Harding.
