East Knox Board discusses budget amendments and personnel changes in latest meeting

The East Knox Board of Education convened for a regular meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Elementary Cafeteria. The session was called to order by President Lindsay Bush, who also led the Pledge of Allegiance. All board members were present: Lindsay Bush, Randy Reese, Larry Campbell, Alan Huffman, and Kathy Tate.

The agenda was approved as presented. Public participation followed Board Policy #0169.1.

Treasurer recommendations included approving minutes from the June 18 meeting and the June financial report. Budgetary amendments were made for Title I and IDEA funds.

Superintendent updates involved discussions on audio recording board meetings. Recommendations included renewing a contract with META Solutions for Final Forms services and agreements with the Knox County Sheriff for school resource officers and Tri-County Educational Service Center for Medicaid coordination.

Personnel changes were approved, including Ronald Fannin's salary adjustment due to additional coursework completion and employment contracts for Tyler Guilliams as Assistant Principal and Julia Kelly as Guidance Counselor. Resignations of Kelsey Walters and Olivia Campbell were accepted.

Teacher stipends for Science of Reading Training completion were approved, reimbursed by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Supplemental contracts were issued to Gabi Burkhalter and Bailey Sprague. Volunteer roles for Lindsay Bush as Van Driver and Jesse Wolford as Football Coach received approval.

Kindergarten Jumpstart was scheduled for July 31, with Alyssa Nixon participating. Aides approved by KCESC for the upcoming school year include Emily Lang, Kim Edens, Michelle Tucker, among others.

The meeting concluded with an adjournment motion passed unanimously by all board members present.
