Mount Vernon Nazarene University's men's volleyball team is preparing for the 2026 season, starting on January 22 at the Olivet Nazarene Tournament in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its preseason rankings, placing MVNU tied for seventh with Goshen College. Lawrence Tech is predicted to lead the conference.
Head Coach Doug Sherer, entering his sixth year, aims to build on last year's achievements. The team retains ten players from the previous season and welcomes three new recruits. Senior outside hitter Jackson Bush from Roseville, California returns after achieving 124 kills and 110 digs last season. Noah Wineberg, a senior opposite hitter from Weirton, West Virginia, also remains a key player with 154 kills and 68 blocks in 2025. Junior Ethan Cline from Mount Vernon adds offensive strength with his record of 161 kills last season. Tyler Monnin, a junior from Xenia, Ohio, supports the backrow after completing last season with 171 digs in 25 matches.
The roster is strengthened by freshmen Jaxson Snell, Tommy Tierney, and Elisha Thao who are expected to contribute depth and skill. MVNU's home schedule begins on January 27 against Indiana East at Ariel Arena.
