Mount Vernon High School's tennis team achieved a significant victory on Saturday, defeating Lancaster 3-2 for the first time in ten years. The win occurred during the annual Cincy Open, a notable event in the regional tennis calendar.

According to reports, Bella led the singles squad with a strong performance, securing one of Mount Vernon's key points. The doubles teams also contributed significantly, with Scarlett and Dede earning a decisive win. However, the match's climax came from the team of Nika and Zoe, who triumphed in a nail-biting match tiebreak to clinch the overall victory for Mount Vernon.

The Lady Jackets' success was guided by head coach Tier and assistant coach Keaton. "This was a fantastic day for our players," Coach Tier said. "They showed determination and heart, and winning against Lancaster after ten years makes it even sweeter."
