Danville High School placed two athletes on the NFCA Region VIII Second Team, underscoring the program’s growing presence in high school softball.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its 2025–26 High School All‑Region selections, dividing the country into 10 regions to honor top performers. In Region VIII, which covers Ohio, Kentucky, and surrounding states, Danville’s Addyson Bocock (Pitcher) and Ruby Bartok (First Base) earned Second Team recognition.

The All‑Region program is designed to spotlight excellence across positions, with nominations submitted by NFCA member coaches and voted on within each region. First‑team honorees advance for consideration as NFCA High School All‑Americans, while second‑team selections represent significant recognition of skill, consistency, and impact. For Danville, the honor reflects both individual achievement and the strength of its softball program.

Bocock’s work in the circle anchored Danville’s pitching staff, giving the team a reliable presence against top competition. Bartok’s steady play at first base provided defensive stability and offensive production, making her one of the most dependable players in the lineup. Their inclusion on the All‑Region team signals that Danville’s athletes are competing at a level that garners statewide and regional respect.

The NFCA All‑Region awards are part of a broader postseason cycle. Regional teams were announced in late June, with All‑America selections scheduled for Friday, July 10. That next step offers Bocock and Bartok the chance to be recognized nationally among the best high school softball players in the country.

Recognition at the All‑Region level also carries recruiting implications. College programs often track NFCA honorees closely, and Danville’s athletes now have added visibility as they continue their careers. For the community, the honors highlight the program’s ability to develop talent capable of excelling beyond local competition.

Bocock and Bartok joined a roster of standout athletes from across the region, including Courtney Norwood (South Warren High School, KY), Emalyn Johnson (Covington High School, OH), Brynn Meyer (Center Grove High School, IN), and Maci Shalbot (Plato High School, MO), among others.

Their inclusion on the NFCA Region VIII Second Team places them among the top performers in their area, marking Danville High School as a program to watch heading into the national honors season. Bocock and Bartok were also recently honored among the best in Ohio at the All-State Banquet.
