Sweet Support: Mount Vernon Football hosts Krispy Kreme fundraiser | MV Yellow Jacket Gridiron Club/FB

Mount Vernon High School's football program is engaging the community with a fundraising event that combines breakfast treats and team spirit. On Thursday, August 15, from 7:30 to 10 a.m., players, coaches, and volunteers will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts at various locations throughout the city to raise funds for the upcoming season.

According to organizers, the fundraiser offers several pricing options: one dozen doughnuts for $15, two dozen for $25, three dozen for $40, and five dozen for $60. The proceeds are intended to support the team's expenses as they prepare for their new season.

Community members can purchase their doughnuts at multiple venues including Mazza’s, Pak Mail, Subway, Snyder Funeral Home, The Square, and Columbia Elementary School. Organizers emphasize that the event is not solely about selling sweets but also about fostering community pride as the Yellow Jackets prepare for another season on the field.

"Let Mount Vernon Football start your day off right," reads the team's promotional flyer. It encourages fans to enjoy a morning treat while supporting local athletes. The fundraiser takes place just days before the team's first game of the season, providing residents an opportunity to show their support early and indulge in a glazed, powdered or filled reward.
