Kenlie Moore of East Knox and Carly Kennedy of Mount Vernon have been named the Mount Vernon News Players of the Week for their outstanding performances on the softball field.
Moore, a standout for the East Knox Bulldogs, had a dominant showing against Mount Gilead, posting a .800 batting average. She recorded two singles, two doubles, drove in five runs and scored once to help power the Bulldogs’ offense.
Kennedy, a senior leader for the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets, showcased her all-around skills across two games, batting .667 with a double, four runs scored and two stolen bases. She also achieved a major career milestone by collecting her 100th varsity career hit during the week.
Both athletes played key roles in leading their teams to important victories and continue to shine as leaders on and off the field.
