Behind a lights-out performance from senior Daniel Lemaster, Centerburg rolled to a 10-0 shutout over Mt. Gilead in five innings Monday.

Lemaster was nearly untouchable on the mound, striking out 12 and allowing just one hit over five scoreless innings. He issued only one walk and kept Mt. Gilead off balance from start to finish, setting the tone for a complete team win.

The Trojans supported their ace with a steady offensive attack and solid defense. Centerburg didn’t commit an error in the field and made the most of its opportunities at the plate, taking advantage of Mt. Gilead miscues to pull away.

After a scoreless first, Centerburg put up four runs in the second inning. A two-run single by Dylan Snow and aggressive base running helped open the scoring, and the Trojans never looked back.

In the fifth, Centerburg added five more runs to seal the run-rule win, fueled by a key double from Mason Vallance and more defensive breakdowns by the Indians.

Offensively, Centerburg collected five hits, with contributions up and down the lineup. Vallance and Snow each tallied two hits, while Aiden Trobridge stole two of the team’s four bases.

Mt. Gilead’s Cole Fricke took the loss, giving up 10 runs—only one of them earned—over five innings. He also recorded the team’s lone hit.

Centerburg improves its record with the dominant outing and will travel to Mt. Gilead for a rematch on Wednesday.
