The Fredericktown Freddies secured a 51-41 victory over the East Knox Bulldogs on January 12th, improving their record to 11-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

Leading the way for the Freddies was senior guard Cally Carpenter, who scored 14 points and added 5 steals, playing a key role on both ends of the court. Kit Bellman was efficient offensively, shooting 4-of-6 from the field and finishing with 11 points. In the paint, Ella Bouton contributed significantly, grabbing 11 rebounds to lead the team and give Fredericktown a slight edge on the boards, despite East Knox pulling down 34 rebounds to the Freddies’ 33.

The Bulldogs were kept in the game by their rebounding effort, but their shooting struggled throughout the contest, finishing at just 24 percent from the field. In contrast, Fredericktown shot a solid 43 percent, capitalizing on multiple scoring opportunities.

East Knox remained competitive but was never able to fully overcome the Freddies’ shooting efficiency and strong defense. Fredericktown’s balanced scoring, led by Carpenter and Bellman, allowed them to maintain a comfortable lead, particularly in the second half.

With the win, Fredericktown improves to 11-3 on the season and 7-2 in conference play, solidifying their position near the top of the standings. As the season progresses, the Freddies will look to continue building momentum as they push toward a strong finish and a potential postseason run.
