Highland will have a new soccer coach at the helm next season, as the school district announced that Megan Dever will be coming on board this fall as the fourth head soccer coach in school history.
According to information provided by Athletic Director Mike Delaney, Dever graduated from Westerville Central High School in 2011. She spent the last decade coaching high school and club soccer across Central Ohio. Dever played soccer while at Westerville Central, and then played at Muskingham University before she was injured. She coached Westerville Central JV from 2014-2016; was head coach for the Classic Eagles Club program from 2014-2019; the Pride SC head coach from 2019-2023 and the Westerville South JV squad last season.
“I am excited for this opportunity, Dever said. “I am looking forward to getting to work with the players in the program currently and look forward to developing a youth program that will produce quality soccer players in the future.”
Delaney said there were several quality applicants to take the head coaching job, saying this speaks to how coaches in the region view the Lady Scots soccer program and its success during the time of Coach Anthony Wilson.
