The Mount Gilead boys’ and girls’ track teams both won the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference titles at the conference meet on May 7.

The boys’ team was led by Logan High, who won a pair of golds in the 100 and 200 meter sprint races. Will Baker also had golds in the 1600 and 3200 meters, dominating the distance.

The girls’ team was led by Danielle Pohlkotte, who had a gold in the high jump, and golds in the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay races. She also won silver in the 200 meters.

Boys highlights:

100 meters: High took the gold with a time of 11.26.

200 meters: High also won the 200 meters with a time of 22.82.

400 meters: Quade Harris won the bronze, clocking in at 51.43.

800 meters: Owen Hershner just missed the podium, clocking in at 2:05.73 for fourth place.

1600 meters: Baker won the gold with a time of 4:28.45.

3200 meters: Baker took the top spot in the 3200 meters with a time of 9:34.26. Parker Bartlett won silver with a time of 9:56.81.

110 meter hurdles: Tae Davis won the gold with a time of 16.11.

300 meter hurdles: Wyatt Mowry was second with a time of 41.67.

4x200 meter relay: Mount Gilead won the relay race with a time of 1:32.83.

4x800 meter relay: The Indians also won the 4x800 meters with a time of 8:14.23.

Shot put: Joey Baldwin was second with a toss of 42 feet, 2.5 inches. Josh Byers also made the podium, placing third with a toss of 42 feet, 1.5 inches.

Discus: Gauge Shipman was fourth with a toss of 120 feet, five inches.

High jump: Josh Burnaugh was fourth with a height of five feet, eight inches.

Pole vault: Kasen Wallace was fifth with a height of 11 feet, six inches.

Girls highlights:

100 meters: Natalie Waugh was fifth with a time of 13.60.

200 meters: Pohlkotte was second with a time of 28.40.

800 meters: Kimberly Staley won bronze with a time of 2:35.72.

1600 meters: Staley was third with a time of 5:40.11.

3200 meters: Staley won the gold with a time of 12:23.16.

100 meter hurdles: Darbie Dillon was second with a time of 17.89.

300 meter hurdles: Dillon took the bronze with a time of 52.91.

4x100 meters: Mount Gilead’s team of Mackenzie Mosier, Waugh, Faith White and Pohlkotte won gold with a time of 53.03.

4x200 meters: The Indians won gold with a time of 1:52.16. The team included Waugh, Dillon, White and Pohlkotte.

4x400 meters: Mount Gilead won bronze with a time of 4:32.88. The team included Dillon, Waugh, Sophie Mosher and Kendall Neal.

4x800 meters: Mount Gilead had a time of 10:51.24 to win the gold.

Shot put: Abby Leonhard was fourth with a toss of 34 feet, 0.5 inches.

Discus: Leonhard won bronze with a toss of 107 feet, seven inches.

High Jump: Pohlkotte won the gold with a height of four feet, 10 inches.

Pole Vault: Kenlee Trainer was fourth with a height of seven feet, six inches.

Long Jump: Mosher was sixth with a leap of 13 feet, nine inches.
