Mansfield (9-2, 8-0) Senior Coach Chioke Bradley picked up his 100th career win with a 34-0 rout of Madison Comprehensive (1-9, 1-6) on Oct. 20, which also clinched sole possession of the OCC title.

The Tygers got the scoring in the first quarter with a 62-yard pass by Duke Reese to Nate Dismuke, and the extra point made it 7-0 Mansfield Senior. Mansfield Senior found themselves knocking on the door again just a minute later after Madison Comprehensive misplayed a kickoff return allowing the ball to be recovered by the Tygers inside the five-yard line. Jamir Petty ran it in from four yards out to go up 14-0 with 3:09 left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Reese struck again for a 65-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Ontay O’Bryant to put the score at 20-0, with the extra point blocked. This would be the score at halftime and the Tygers were cruising.

With about five minutes left in the third quarter, DaJohn Corbin recovered a fumble forced by Elias Owens, and ran it back for a 25-yard touchdown. At the beginning of the fourth quarter Reese hit Dismuke for a 13-yard touchdown pass again.

The Tygers Reese, who was 8-for-11 for 202 yards and three touchdown passes for one of his best games of the season. Dismuke was his main target and had six receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked off a pass and tallied two tackles on the defensive side. Owens was clutch on defense, as he had a forced fumble that was recovered and ran back for a score. 

Coach Bradley now has a 100-52 record and this was the first time in 10 years that the Tygers have had sole possession of an OCC title.

No. 4 Mansfield Senior hosts No. 13 Lexington on Friday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Region 10 OHSAA playoffs.
