FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Fredericktown Municipal Building on the Square. There were 24 members and guests present. Phyllis Shira got food from Fazoli's in Ontario and provided the beverages.
At noon, we had a prayer by Linda Shira. Mayor Jerry Day introduced the new police chief, Tracy Myers.
At 1 p.m., we were entertained by Jane Horton with singing of some of our favorite Christmas songs.
At 1:45 p.m., Phyllis Shira called the meeting to order with all standing for the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Margaret Ann Ruhl read the minutes of the last meeting. Some corrections to the spelling of names were mentioned and changed. No report from Treasurer Phyllis Shira.
No old or new business was brought up.
Birthdays to celebrate in the month of December were Vonda Turner, Irma James, Denzel Koppert and Priscilla Cunningham. Anniversaries for December was Priscilla and Charles Cunningham.
The meeting ended with Margaret Ann Ruhl reading a "Funny Christmas Story." Next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, with all to bring a salad or dessert. Meeting will be at the Fredericktown Municipal Building.
