From our Sports Line:
Monday Morning. An anonymous call from a reader took issue with several things about the East Knox-Newark Catholic game. The caller said: “This is about the East Knox-Newark Catholic football game. First of all, the announcers at the game don't go through how to pronounce the kids' names, so they really butchered some of the kids’ names. Second of all, are the Newark Catholic recruits (an unfair playing field)? It’s a known fact that they go out of the school district for their players and more than half their team is all-District. Third of all, East Knox did not stick to their game plan and it was terrible, and turnovers killed them, but they played better than how it looks. And that brings us to fourth of all, the team statistics and individual statistics. The “official” statistics have been wrong all year long, and they have NOT been in East Knox’s favor, especially for this game. They say that school officials write it up, but I don’t believe it. They got it very wrong. Certain EK kids got more yardage than what was reported. You know, you have to verify everything and if you don't believe me, take a look at the film OK? Finally, the KMAC is weak. Only five kids from East Knox made all-KMAC and only three of them were named all-District. Well, you can see what's going on there … favoritism that is not in EK’s favor.
