Lords earn prominent academic awards from GCAA

NORMAN, Okla. – Kenyon College learned Friday that it was one of 32 NCAA Division III teams to earn the Golf Coaches Association of America’s (GCAA) All-Academic Team honor for the 2020-21 season. Additionally, the Lords were one of just 13 NCAA Division III teams to collect the GCAA’s Presidents Special Recognition.

To be eligible for the GCAA All-Academic Team honor, a college or university had to submit the grade point averages for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. The overall team grade point average had to exceed 3.00. To earn the Presidents Special Recognition award, the team grade point average had to exceed 3.50.

Kenyon had nine student-athletes on its 2020-21 roster, with six of those posting individual grade point averages of 3.6 or better.

The awards announcement marked the eighth year in a row that the Lords won the GCAA All-Academic Team honor and the second year in a row they won the Presidents Special Recognition.
