UTICA – Laraine Neighbarger, 78, of Utica died Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Mount Vernon to the late Delbert and Janette (Blair) Neighbarger.

Laraine was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a bachelor's degree in history. She was a 2nd degree black belt and enjoyed playing the piano, genealogy and archaeology. She was able to travel all over the world, including France, Scotland, England and Ireland. She volunteered much of her time at the library in Newark. She was also a member of Masonic Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth and White Shrine. She had a lifetime membership to Knox County Humane Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Leah (Scott) Tallman and Rachel (Austin Frazee) Landis; grandson, Zachariah (Charmaine) Tallman; sister, Cindy Cordray; and three nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Fred Cordray.

Memorial contributions may be made in Laraine’s memory to the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, 49 Seminary St., Berea, OH 44017.

A private graveside service will be held in Eden Cemetery.
