Nellie “Kay” Kerschner, 88, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025.

She was born on March 13, 1937, to the late Joe and Harriett Mossman, who instilled in her the enduring values of love, kindness, and family—principles she carried with her throughout her life.

On December 23, 1957, Kay married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Kerschner. Together, they shared a beautiful journey spanning 65 years, filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering support. Their marriage was a testament to the power of love and partnership. Following Chuck’s passing on December 22, 2022, Kay held tightly to the cherished memories of their life together.

Kay dedicated her life to her family, pouring her heart into raising her children and creating a warm, nurturing home. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, often gathering loved ones around the table to share meals, stories, and laughter. It was in these moments—surrounded by those she loved—that Kay found her greatest joy. Her home was always a sanctuary of comfort and belonging.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Jr. (Martha), Dean (Cheryl), and John (Michele); her daughter, Sherry (Randall) Dennison; and her beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Shaun, Sophie, Calib, and Braydn. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter, Allison, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Kay’s legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honor of her memory, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Centerburg Senior Center, 182 West Houck Road, Centerburg, Ohio 43011.

Kay Kerschner will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit, but also for the countless lives she touched with her compassion and grace. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
