Gail Lee Richards, age 76, of Henderson, NV and formerly of San Diego, California and Mount Vernon, Ohio peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Jennie Lepley Newton passed away peacefully at home in Columbus on May 22. She was 82.

As an environmentally minded Knox County resident and supporter of the proposed Frasier Solar project, I have been dumbfounded by the pervasive misleading claims about solar panel toxicity that have been peddled to our community by Knox Smart Development and their dark-money allies, especially considering the actual pollutants that our community is currently exposed to.

Marie H. Dulaney, age 85, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mark Alan Morrison, 70, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at County Club Rehabilitation Center, in Mount Vernon.

Robert Eugene Staats, 73 of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2024. Robert was born on Feb. 7, 1951, to Robert L. and Martha E. (Hawk) Staats in Mount Vernon, OH.

Charles L. “Chuck” McKenzie, age 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Jean was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on Sept. 14, 1933, and passed from this world on June 5, 2024, at the age of 90.

I am a practicing engineer, with over 45 years in the design, development, and production of electric power-generating systems, including solar-powered systems. In my experienced judgment, solar farm technology is not an economical nor a technically viable energy source to power our American electric grid.

Frederick Richard “Dick” Heffelfinger, 93, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on July 6, 1930, in Mount Vernon, the son of Fred and Grace (Welsh) Heffelfinger.

Micheal Steven Sigman Sr., born on June 1, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at the age of 75.

Emily Pauline Veatch, 97 of Newark, passed away on June 8, 2024 at her residence. She was born on July 26, 1926 in Danville, Ohio to the late Dale and Edith (Reed) Alexander.

I am writing in response to a Letter to the Editor that recently ran in the Mount Vernon News. It is just one of the latest examples of misinformation being spread by a small, but vocal minority about the Frasier Solar project in Knox County.

Janet Alice (Harvey) Graddick, age 79, passed away under hospice care in Chicago, Illinois, on April 24, 2024.

This letter is in support of the 120 MW Frasier Solar Project in Knox County. Since the passage of SB52, many Ohio counties are vetoing utility-scale renewable projects.

Stephanie Anne Zollars, 61, passed away at the Knox Community Hospital on May 28, 2024.
