April is Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Month, and Knox County Job & Family Services encourages all residents of Knox County to join the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund’s #EverydayOhioHeroes campaign to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention and promote a call to action to encourage all adults to “Be a Hero in the Eyes of a Child – one simple act of encouragement at a time.”

MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Department of Job & Family Services is continuing to recognize community partners and individuals who assist in reaching the agency’s  mission of making the lives of children and families better, especially during the last year. September’s Community Impact Award goes to Dr. Timm Mackley, Superintendent of the  Knox Educational Service Center “Dr. Mackley goes above and beyond for the disadvantaged students he works with,”  said Lori Rudrick, Employment Services Counselor at Opportunity Knox Employment  Center.

Carol Grubaugh, executive director of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, received a Community Impact Award from the Knox County Department of Job & Family Services.

The Town & Country Garden Club has a mission to learn the fundamentals of gardening and promote interest in civic beautification through grants to community entities.
