MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Department of Job & Family Services is continuing to recognize community partners and individuals who assist in reaching the agency’s mission of making the lives of children and families better.

Recently, the New Directions staff treated Knox County Department of Job and Family Services (KCDJFS) employees to a pizza party as a show of appreciation for KCDJFS’ support in sharing recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. KCDJFS reciprocated by presenting the New Directions staff with a planted flowerpot that was decorated with logos for both organizations by a local artist.

“New Directions provides a multitude of invaluable resources for our community,” said JFS Director Scott Boone. “Lori Jones-Perkins (New Directions executive director) and her staff supply all of us with education and supportive outlets that protect and heal victims while simultaneously helping families keep their loved ones safe. New Directions is an incredibly important partner to us.”

For many years, Knox County JFS and New Directions have worked in collaboration to make the lives of families living in Knox County better.
