MOUNT VERNON – Carol Grubaugh, executive director of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, received the August Community Impact Award from the Knox County Department of Job & Family Services.

According to a press release from KCJFS, the award continues the agency's efforts to recognize community partners and individuals who assist in making the lives of children and families better, especially during the last year.

“Carol is a dedicated member of this community,” said Brandy Booth, administrator at Opportunity Knox Employment Center. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Carol through my involvement with Leadership Knox and as a member of the WorkDev group. She is hard-working and honest, and she takes her work as the executive director of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce very seriously.

“Carol goes out of her way to welcome newcomers to our community and help connect people to businesses and other services,” Booth added. “Carol demonstrates a strong desire to bring businesses and agencies together to collaborate and improve our community for everyone. Carol is certainly an asset to our community.”
