MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Department of Job & Family Services is continuing to recognize community partners and individuals who assist in reaching the agency’s mission of making the lives of children and families better, especially during the last year.

September’s Community Impact Award goes to Dr. Timm Mackley, Superintendent of the Knox Educational Service Center

“Dr. Mackley goes above and beyond for the disadvantaged students he works with,” said Lori Rudrick, employment services counselor at Opportunity Knox Employment Center. “He assesses each student to help them figure out the best path for their individual circumstances and he personally helps connect the students with services available in the community to them. He demonstrates his strong desire to help these young people from falling through the cracks.

“He encourages his students to have a plan and he helps them create one,” said Rudrick. “He definitely cares about the students he encounters and does everything he can to make their transition from high school into adulthood as successful as possible.”
