The Village of Centerburg is inviting residents to enjoy two free community events this summer that will bring live music, local talent, and family-friendly activities to the Between the Bricks downtown gathering space.
The festivities begin with the first event in the village's Summer Saturday Series, featuring live rock and roll by Hard Knox at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Between the Bricks, 16 E. Main St. The second event, the inaugural Junior Makers & Growers Market, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the same location. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Summer Saturday Series is designed to bring the community together in the heart of downtown while offering residents and visitors a chance to enjoy live entertainment in a relaxed outdoor setting. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets and spend the evening with friends, family, and neighbors while enjoying music in the village's downtown gathering space.
The July 25 concert will feature Hard Knox performing live beginning at 5 p.m. The village describes the event as an opportunity to kick off the summer season with great music, good vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
The village also thanked The Hondros Family of Companies and Arbor Homes for sponsoring the concert and helping make the community event possible.
In the following weeks, young entrepreneurs will take center stage during the first-ever Junior Makers & Growers Market. The event is open to vendors ages 7 to 17, who will showcase and sell handmade, handcrafted, and homegrown products. Organizers emphasize that “if they make it or grow it, it’s welcome.”
Visitors can browse a variety of items, including baked goods, wood crafts, plants and garden products, dog treats, jewelry, keychains, artwork, sewn creations, and 3D-printed items. Organizers say the market will highlight the creativity, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit of local youth while encouraging the community to shop locally and support the next generation of makers.
The village is encouraging residents to attend both events and help celebrate the community throughout the summer. Those seeking additional information about the Junior Makers & Growers Market may call 740-625-7808 or email [email protected].
