The Utica Girls Wrestling team hosted their home tournament on January 30, and placed second out of thirteen, losing only to Dublin Jerome.

The Lady Redskins had a number of impressive placings, and the team proved strong in their individual weight classes.

Taleah Clark added another first place and three more wins to her record, moving her to 24-7. Every tournament Clark competes in she proves her years of experience, spanning across Utica’s youth program and her middle school career.

Hailey Wygle continued to dominate her weight class and also took home first place. Throughout the season, she has managed to only lose an impressive two matches and has won twenty-eight so far.

Ainsley Kerstetter had the third and final first place title for Utica on the night, going 4-0 in her division and moving her record to 18-6.

Joslyn Snyder earned her highest placing of the season with second place in her weight class. Her 11-18 record makes for a promising freshman year as she demonstrates constant growth.

The team moves on to compete in the Maysville Panthers Girls Invitational at Maysville High School.

Last year at the Utica tournament, Hailey Wygle was the lone wrestler for the girls and placed first in her weight class.
