The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team faced a challenging game against Spring Arbor University in a Crossroads League matchup. The game, held on January 31, saw Spring Arbor quickly take control with a 14-4 lead early in the first half. By halftime, Spring Arbor extended their advantage to 46-27.

Spring Arbor maintained their momentum in the second half, at one point leading by 27 points. Despite some late offensive efforts from Mount Vernon Nazarene, they ultimately lost 83-71. Mount Vernon Nazarene shot 36.5% from the field and made six out of 24 three-point attempts. They also committed 19 turnovers during the game.

In contrast, Spring Arbor had a shooting percentage of 52.3% and made ten three-pointers at a rate of 38.5%. Trent Koning was the standout player for Mount Vernon Nazarene with 20 points, four assists, and three steals. Peyton Heiss contributed ten points and nine rebounds along with three assists, while Devin Dreier added ten points and five rebounds.

Coach Ronai acknowledged Spring Arbor's strong performance: "Tip my cap to Spring Arbor. I thought they played really well and played in the box consistently throughout the afternoon." He emphasized the need for his team to improve defensively: "Our group has to take a step forward on the defensive end this week."
