The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team faced a challenging game against the 18th-ranked Spring Arbor University Lady Cougars in Spring Arbor, Michigan. The match took place on Saturday, January 31, with MVNU struggling from the start as Spring Arbor launched an 18-0 run. Melodie Blubaugh scored the first points for MVNU with a three-pointer assisted by Kylie Leibacher.

By halftime, Spring Arbor had established a commanding lead of 42-11. They maintained their dominance throughout the second half, ultimately securing a 75-35 victory. Blubaugh contributed nine points along with three rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Leibacher added seven points and four rebounds to her team's efforts. Lily Shepherd and Anna Swisshelm each scored six points.

MVNU's shooting performance was underwhelming at 24.6% from the field and 20% from beyond the arc. Additionally, they committed 23 turnovers that resulted in 21 points for Spring Arbor.

Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars will continue their road games by traveling to face No. 5 Marian University in Indianapolis on Wednesday, February 4 at 5:00 p.m.
