Mount Vernon Nazarene University's men's basketball team secured a victory against Goshen College at Ariel Arena. The Cougars, now with a 12-6 record, began the game strongly by hitting six of their first eight three-point attempts. They built an early lead but faced a comeback from Goshen, who briefly took the lead before halftime. MVNU regained control with a quick scoring run and entered the break ahead 45-42.

In the second half, the game remained close until MVNU executed a decisive 13-0 run, solidifying their win with a final score of 93-84. Peyton Heiss led the team with a career-high 32 points and added 12 rebounds. Other key contributors included Trent Koning with 16 points and Abib Abib with 14 points.

Coach Ronai expressed pride in his team's resilience and contributions from multiple players. "Proud of our group and their toughness," he said. "We responded well to some adverse moments, and a lot of guys contributed."

The team will next face Taylor University in Upland, Indiana on January 17.
