According to reports, Mt. Vernon established an early lead, achieving a 14–4 advantage in the first quarter and extending their dominance with a 20-point second quarter. The team continued to exert pressure in the second half, consistently scoring while limiting Westerville North's offensive opportunities. This balanced performance and defensive discipline allowed Mt. Vernon to maintain their lead across all four quarters.
