Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's basketball team faced a tough challenge against Marian University on December 6 at Ariel Arena. The Lady Cougars, now 4-8 overall and 0-4 in the Crossroads League, struggled to keep up with the undefeated Knights, who improved their record to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the league.

Marian took control early, capitalizing on MVNU's turnovers to secure a 7-0 lead. By the end of the first quarter, they led 23-14. The second quarter saw Marian extend their advantage with a 6-0 run, leading to a halftime score of 42-24. Despite efforts from MVNU's Angela Roshak, who narrowed the gap to 14 points in the third quarter with an and-one play, Marian maintained their dominance.

Entering the fourth quarter down by 19 points at 58-39, MVNU could not recover as Marian executed a decisive 15-2 run. The game concluded with an 81-47 victory for Marian University. Key factors in Marian's win included shooting accuracy—49.2% from the field and 46.7% from three-point range—and exploiting MVNU's turnovers for 38 points.
