Lady Cougars' volleyball season ends at NAIA Championship against Providence

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team concluded its season with a loss to Providence in the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship pool play. The match took place at the Tyson Events Center on Friday, December 5. The Lady Cougars, ranked No. 11, faced the No. 6 ranked Providence team, which had already secured a victory against the College of Idaho earlier in the week.

During the first set, MVNU initially led 8-5 but eventually lost 28-26 after a strong finish by Providence. In the second set, MVNU started with a 6-1 lead and maintained control until late in the set when Providence overtook them to win 25-22. Despite their efforts in the third set, MVNU was unable to regain control and lost 20-25.

Key performances for MVNU included Libby Evanshine with 13 kills, Faith Maloney with 10 kills, and Evelyn Brown contributing nine kills. Jaelyn Tang recorded 20 digs while Reagan Nuss provided 39 assists and capped her career with one kill.
