Gary Lee Erow, age 75, of Nashport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 7, 1949, in Mount Vernon, Gary was the son of the late Hellen (Temple) and Dick Erow.
Gary attended East Knox High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. A skilled and lifelong mechanic, he worked for Center City International until his retirement. Gary was also an active member of American Legion Post 0085 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Newark, where he enjoyed camaraderie and community.
He is survived by his son, Richard Erow; his daughters, Penny (Darrel) Board and Francis Passick; his brothers, Mike Erow and Jeff (Marianne) Erow; his sisters, Terry Vaughan, Judy Stallings, Jackie (Bill) Stewart, Joy (Bill) Barcroft, and Jeanie (David) Saunders; his father, Dick (Nellie) Erow; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Erow; his son, Gary Lynn Erow; his sister, Shirley Parker; his mother, Hellen Mizer; his stepfather, Calvin Mizer; and his brothers, Bob Erow and David Allen Erow.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial at 2:00 p.m. in Hopewell Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
